Pakistan Customs claimed to have recovered foreign currency papers worth $40,000 from a passenger at Jinnah International Airport Karachi on Saturday. According to the details, customs intelligence staff at Air Port recovered US currency from Mustafa Arif, about to go onboard to London. The currency was concealed in different secret parts of luggage.
The passenger along with his passport, traveling documents, currency and baggage has been detained and a FIR has been lodged accordingly. As per Pakistan’s law, a passenger can carry upto 10,000 or equivalent currency notes of any other country while going abroad.
Meanwhile, in collaboration with Operations and Investigation teams, Firozabad Police nabbed a dacoit who looted Rs 6 million from a man coming out from a commercial bank in PECHS. The two of the confidants of arrested had managed to escape from the spot. However, police recovered Rs 5 million from the possession of the accused.
The complainant, Shahid Zia reported the incident at Firozabad Police on same day when incident occurred.
Deputy Inspector General Police East appreciated joint team efforts and has also given instructions for arrest of other two criminals. In a jointly targeted operation, Lyari and Kharadar police arrested an accused identified as Sheeraz a member of Lyari gang war in Pak Colony area. A stash of weapons, cash and contraband were also recovered from his possession, police claimed. Police also claimed arrest of Ghazi Khan, Shakir Shaka, Fahad Lashari, and Mama Yaqoob from different parts of city. These accused were involved in cases of murder, attempted murder, extortion and police encounter, police claimed.
